14: Soul singer PERCY SLEDGE (age 74) lost his battle with cancer. “When a Man Loves a Woman” was a major hit in 1966.

22: Canadian singer LOIS LILIENSTEIN (age 78) of the children music group Sharon, Lois and Bram, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her house in Toronto.

24: SID TEPPER famous for writing more than 40 songs for Elvis Presley, died of natural causes.
