ROY ORBISON “Mystery Girl” Rock and roll pioneer Roy Orbison was born in Texas in 1936. Along Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis, he sang and recorded at the famous Sun Studios with his clear and powerful distinctive voice. Crying, Oh Pretty Woman, Only The Lonely… and the list goes on. But by 1969, he was forgotten. It took the use of his song In Dreams in a David Lynch movie, Blue Velvet, to bring him back to mind. In 1988, he joined his friends Jeff Lynne (with whom he was working), Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and George Harrison to form the multi-generational project The Traveling Wilberys, which draw new success to all five musicians. “Mystery Girl” was released after Roy Orbison death, at age 54, of a heart attack.
