At the end of the year, RREVERB’s editorial team gathered their favorite songs of 2014, in all genres. The songs that moved them. Songs they played over and over. Songs that touched them, for various reasons. Either they resonated in their life, a piece of lyric touched them, or the music elevated their soul. The founder and editor Nicolas Pelletier went nuts for TV On The Radio, Spoon, Curtis Harding, Son Little, Tony Allen with Damon Albarn, Alden Penner, La Maison Tellier, Arthur H (eand many more), as Karl-Philip Marchand Giguère chose songs from War On Drugs, Death From Above 1979 and Liars. Martin Curadeau considered Broncho to be the catchiest, and saluted the talent of Owen Pallett. The prolific writer Benoit Bergeron really appreciated Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra, Grand Blanc, Paolo Nutini, Hôtel Morphée and was touched by Angel Olsen, Luluc and Beck. When he hears Chocolat, Bernhari or Temples’ music, he cranks up the volume! Serge Beyer from Longueur d’Ondes magazine had a crush on Hay Babies, the unique Shamir and the free spirit of Dimoné. Vanessa Hauguel had a long list of mellow and dreamy songs to share, by Moonface, Sharon Van Etten, Philippe B, Warpaint, and, like many of us, appreciated the latest work from War On Drugs and Sun Kil Moon. J-F Richard played a lot of Mt Royal, Timber Timbre, Jack White and Caribou in his car this year, as Nebojsa Adzic went for All The Rage and the Bombay Bicycle Club.
