Glenn Yarbrough (January 12, 1930 – August 11, 2016) was an American folk singer. He was the lead singer with the Limeliters from 1959 to 1963. He also had a prolific solo career, recording on various labels. Dan Maraya Jos (born Adamu Wayya in 1946 – 20 June 2015) was a Nigerian Hausa Griot best known for playing the kontigi. Like most professional musicians, the mainstay of Dan Maraya’s repertoire is praise singing, but Dan Maraya singles out his personal heroes rather than the rich and famous. Chayito Valdez (May 28, 1945 – June 20, 2016), was a Mexican singer and actress who was born in Guasave, Sinaloa, Mexico. She was associated with and contributed to the folk music of Mexico. During her 30-year career, Valdez contributed over 300 hits and 1500 recorded songs to the Mexican musical heritage. Alan Loveday (29 February 1928 – 12 April 2016) was a New Zealand violinist. A child prodigy, he became leader of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and a soloist and leader with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields. He was a professor at the Royal College of Music for 17 years from 1955. He was the father of Ian Loveday, a rave pioneer known bu Eon (1954-2009). Ursula Mamlok (February 1, 1923 – May 4, 2016) was a German-born American composer and teacher. Mamlok composed extensively for small chamber ensembles of various configurations as well as works for piano. However, her output included a few pieces for orchestra, including a concerto for oboe. Tommy Brown (May 27, 1931 – March 12, 2016) was an American R&B singer who achieved most of his success in the early 1950s, particularly on records with The Griffin Brothers. Brown was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in Memphis. Carlo Mastrangelo (October 5, 1937 – April 4, 2016) was an American doo-wop and progressive rock singer. He was an original member of The Belmonts (with or without Dion DiMucci), a popular singing group of the late 1950s and early 1960s.
