GANG OF FOUR “Content” The English post-punk band lived through different eras, the guitarist Andy Gill being the only member always present, since 1977, while singer Jon King left in 2012. Their first albums were very political and contained uncompromising views of society. The band was a strong influence on artists like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Liars and Franz Ferdinand. Their 2006 album “Content” regrouped 3 of the 4 original members (Jon King, Andy Gill, Dave Allen) with new drummer Mark Heaney on drums and Thomas McNeice on bass. Critics gave the album a bunch of stars, leading Andrew Perry, to write in Britain’s Telegraph newspaper, that it was “their best record since the Seventies”.
