THE GO-BETWEENS “The Friends of Rachel Worth” Way back in 1977, two theatre students, Robert Forster and Grant McLennan met and formed a band. The Go-Betweens were considered among the best new wave bands alongside Talking Heads or Television, although commercial success eluded them. McLennan and violinist Amanda Brown formed a couple, which ended the band when they split, in 1989. A 12 year hiatus was a long wait for the many fans of indie rock Australian duo The Go-Betweens. The two pals reunited and released this great album, with the help of some of Sleater-Kinney’s musicians. Their final album, “Oceans Apart”, got them the long-awaited mainstream recognition in 2005. McLennan died the next year of a heart attack. Réagissez à cet article / Comment this article commentaires / comments
